The Years of Apocalypse – UraniumPhoenix

I would like at least two of my requested characters to appear in the fic. Which ones you pick is up to you.

For this request, I am waiving the on-page suicide dnw if the suicide is for the purpose of starting a new iteration. References to canonical levels of bigotry-motivated violence (e.g. Palendurio riots) are okay but I’d prefer they not be depicted on-page.

This is an ongoing webnovel and can be found here. I’m subscribed to the higher tier of the author’s Patreon and am therefore 25 chapters ahead of the free release, so part of this is under a second details tag.

In general I’m very interested in the world of this story, beyond what we’ve already seen, and also in the characters; the Ominian is alien and otherworldly in a really compelling way, and I’d love to get a look into Jei’s perspective—be that in regards to the time loop, the Divine Monument, living in Torrviol, or anything else. Anything worldbuilding—how this world was formed, how it works, how the characters interact with it—anything of that would be great. The nature of myrvites, the origin and nature of the Divir moon…
I think it would make for a very different—but still very interesting—story if Jei were a time looper, either instead of or in addition to Mirian.

She’s a fascinating character; she’s so lonely, and she just keeps pushing past that; what else can she do? I’d be interested in expansion of any of her current questions—what’s with Apophagorga? Are the Cataclysm Beasts related to the Labyrinthine Horrors? What really happened in her childhood—where did she come from? What has she forgotten? There’s a decent chance that some or all of these will be answered by canon by December but I’m interested in your take on it regardless.

Another thing you could do is any sort of character study, from any of the quiet parts of the canon timeline or from before canon or from something that has not yet come to pass.

The Disabled Tyrant’s Beloved Pet Fish – Xue Shan Fei Hu

Requested characters: Li Yu, Mu Tianchi, Ye Qinghuan, The Princess of Jinjue

I would like at least two of my requested characters to appear in the fic. Which ones you pick is up to you.

I think this is a very cute story, I’ve been having a lot of fun with it. I’d be down for any exploration of the character dynamics. I think that Li Yu and the Princess would make for excellent partners in mischief, and both he and Prince Jing could do with some more real friends in this world. Alternatively: YQH outsider PoV on all their shenanigans—we get snippets of that in canon but not the full effect.

I’d prefer to keep to the canon ships when it comes to romance for this one, but feel free to write shipfic for Li Yu/Prince Jing and/or YQH/The Princess of Jinjue. Also note that I have been reading the Seven Seas volumes, so I have not read past the departure for the border; I may get my hands on volume 3 before Yuletide reveals but I also might not, so please no spoilers. I know the fish-babies exist but that’s the only thing I know past volume 2. (I’m aware of the perils of requesting media you haven’t finished and that is a risk I am willing to take lmao)

This is a standalone book in the Discworld series, about a rather unusual group of newly recruited in the small country of Borogravia.

fandom notes: I DNW cis woman!Jackrum--which is to say, I'm not particularly interested in a reading of him that's explicit about him being Definitely Only A Woman. Other readings--be they him identifying as he presents himself, or an uncertainty, or somewhere in between--are welcome.
I also adjusted the bigotry-motivated violence dnw for this fandom--there's a lot of implications of and allusions to horrible misogynistic violence in this book, but most of it is written between the lines and off the page and I would prefer it to stay there; no need to pretend that Wazzer, for example, hasn't had terrible things happen to her, but I'd like it if they stayed at the level that they are in the book.

Onto my thoughts! I love the double entendre of the title--their regiment is both literally monstrous (in that half of them aren't human) and metaphorically so (since they're gasp women!). I like the way the book plays with presentation and identity and believability--Polly's read as a barmaid when she wears a skirt, but they get called infiltrating soldiers (which, to be fair, they are) when they show up as washerwomen.

I'd love something going into Jackrum's life, before or after the events of the book (or spanning both), or something about how Wazzer is afterwards--what was her relationship with the Duchess like for her? How did that work?

There's also Maladict, who I'd be down for any gender reading on--what was the thought process behind leaving? Was it really just a dislike of the corsets, or something more? Where does Maladict go afterward?

And Polly! Something about her navigating the new world, and what she does with her own little lads, would be great here, but for all of them--I'd love to see what you want to explore for them.

My prompts mostly deal with them in isolation, but I'd be down for any combination you want to write. if you're stuck for ideas, I'm always down for a good alternate Controller/alternate tag-along AU!

Novelty:
I love Novelty, how cheerful and curious she is, how unfailingly interetested in Human Things. Anything you want to give me about here I'd love--I'm particularly interested in Novelty And Humans, but if you've got another idea go for it!

Fortov:
Of the Kazinski siblings, we see Fortov the least, and we know that Zorian doesn’t like him, but Zorian isn’t a reliable narrator when it comes to Fortov. So tell me about him! What’s it like to be Fortov Kazinski, generally charismatic middle child and sometimes-definitely-a-dick who isn’t a total overachiever in any field?

Raynie:
I like how Raynie is in some ways a foil to Zorian, and some ways very different; they're both teenagers somewhat embittered over family dynamics, but Raynie carries a context and history with her that Zorian lacks. Something dealing with the tension between Raynie, student mage of Eldemar, and Raynie, first-born child and daughter of a shifter tribe, might be interesting.
I also enjoy her friendship and dynamic with Kiana.
for pre-canon I’d love something with Raynie going to Cyoria and how she befriended Kiana in the first place (or, more likely, how Kiana befriended her; I doubt that Raynie age 13, recently semi-exiled from her tribe, was particularly in search of outsider friends).
For post-canon, anything dealing with the fallout of all the things that go down in the real world would be fantastic too. What happens when she goes home? How does the invasion shift her relationship with her family and tribe?

Kirielle:
If you want to focus on Kirielle’s relationship with someone else, for Zorian, I love their dynamic! And I’d enjoy seeing their relationship developing in real time. I think it would be great to see either of them defending the other to their parents—maybe Zorian ends up with custody of Kiri, definitely things to explore there. For Nochka, they’re adorable and I’d love a further development of their friendship, especially getting to see it grow and develop after the invasion. If you want to write about her and Zach, they seem to have a lot of fun teaming up against Zorian, I really enjoy their dynamic and how they play off each other. Or you could go with someone else entirely!
I’d also be here for any sort of solo story about/character study of Kiri, really, but I’m gonna prompt a few specific things anyway.
- She grows up a little, and becomes a student mage—what’s that like for her, especially having received Zorian’s tutelage?
- She grows up a little, and doesn’t seriously pursue magic—does she devote herself more seriously to art? Do something else? Get away from her parents, and get to just be a kid for a little longer than her siblings?

Found family! Love and loss and trust and betrayal and hope and... look, there's a lot in this movie to like, all right? I'd love to see more about the dynamics between any of these characters--Nimona and Ballister of course are friends already, but how does she interact with Ambrosius after coming back? What were Ambrosius and Ballister like pre-canon; how did they pick up the pieces, after the movie's main events?

And as for Gloreth, she's someone Nimona knew in person and someone the others only know as a legend--did she and Nimona only know each other as children, or did they meet again? What was it like for Ambrosius, growing up with her legacy on his shoulders; what about Ballister, who knew himself as a contradiction to her rules for so long? Or do they end up meeting via time travel shenanigans, or something like that?

Feel free to engage with the canonical violence motivated by fear, etc around Nimona and her nature and abilities, and that around Ballister and his introduction into a previously-exclusive social class.

• For some reason—there’s actually a fair amount that’d have to change here, but shhh this is my ridiculous self-indulgent prompt—Kirielle is the Controller. How does she react to being in a looping world, with no one else looping she can possibly compare notes with? What does she do with her time? Why did the angels choose her? How does this impact canon—is Jornak even a problem, does the whole Sovereign Gate affair pass much as it was meant to rather than the debacle that became of it in canon?

Fortov Kazinski

Of all the Kazinski siblings, we see Fortov the least, and we know that Zorian doesn’t like him much at all, but it’s also pretty clear that Zorian isn’t a totally reliable narrator when it comes to Fortov. So tell me about him! What’s it like to be Fortov Kazinski, generally charismatic middle child and sometimes-definitely-a-dick who isn’t a total overachiever in any field?
If you want specific prompts, consider elaborating on what exactly happened between him and Ibery that she always ended up in the purple creeper patch.

Neoluma-Manu Iljatir

Neolu very much seems to be someone who's got an interesting story going on that has nothing whatsoever to do with the main drama; I'd love to see something exploring that! She's initially presented as not a very serious person by Zorian's perspective, but when we actually see her there's more to her than that--tell me about her!
Or maybe a story about one of those loops when Zach told her he was a time traveler and they went exploring together?

Raynie

I like Raynie a lot; we don’t get a whole lot on her, but what we do get paints her as someone who’s having a very interesting life of her own, utterly divorced from the timeloop shenanigans (except re: the shifter children thing). I like her and Kiana’s friendship, too; I like how when we finally see more of them both we learn more about how they’re similar and different.

If you want to go pre-canon I’d really love something with Raynie initially going to Cyoria and how she befriended Kiana in the first place (or, perhaps more likely, how Kiana befriended her; I somehow doubt that Raynie age 13, recently semi-exiled from her tribe, was particularly in search of outsider friends).
For post-canon, really, anything dealing with the fallout of all the things that go down in the real world would be fantastic too.

The Fantasy Heroine Series - Jill Bearup

Requested Characters: Leo Collins, Rosamund Hawkhurst, Caroline

This whole series is unabashedly and committedly tropey; I'm really enjoying the simultaneous commitment to the tropes and tongue-in-cheek lampshading of them, and the back-and-forth between Caroline and Rosamund across the fourth wall.
I think here it would be fun to do something sort of mimicking the style of the shorts--though how exactly you'd pull that off I leave up to your discretion--or maybe something with Caroline as a sort of Lemony Snicket-style narrator? Where the narrator is not a physical presence in the story being related, but is still very much a character.
Or perhaps you have a better idea!

Friends at the Table: Fall of Magic

This is a three-episode minicampaign and can be found in the Friends at the Table podcast feed; it's somewhere between 7 and 9 hours in total, I think.

No specific character requested--characters in the tagset are Caspian, Fawn, Harp, and Piccolo, any of them can be the focus!

I love this playthrough of this game. I love how weird and ephemeral and overtly magical it is, how that magic manifests in different ways in different places but is still very much present even as it's dying. The sense of melancholy, of an old magical world and a changing new one, pervades the game and it's a tone I sort of fell in love with. I just would like more of this world, and the people who live in it through its changes.

A lot of these characters are ambiguous and old in a way a lot of elements of the story are, and I would love to see something that explores that. Fawn and Caspian have histories that stretch back long years; they both used to be very different people. Harp (and the Magus too) are old, too, but they don’t seem to have changed as much—but still they have Existed in the world as it has lived through this age of magic.
Piccolo, otoh, is young; and he’s the one who continues the most as he was, into the new world, with the magic still present but irrevocably changed… how does that go, for him?

okay, so, this request is v much a longshot, since I'm requesting a specific run of a play that, as far as I know, is so far the only run of that particular iteration, but what's yuletide for if not obscure longshot requests? I'd love anything with Margot and Maxine--pre-canon, post-canon, mid-canon where Maxine's trying to figure out what happened and Margot's also trying to make sense of things... if you want to write something during the time they're apart (either when Max is in America or Margot's in prison) then both characters don't need to be physically present, but they should both be important to the story nonetheless.

I’d also be here for any sort of solo story about/character study of Kiri, really, but I’m gonna prompt a few specific things anyway.

She grows up a little, and becomes a student mage—what’s that like for her, especially having received Zorian’s tutelage?

She grows up a little, and doesn’t seriously pursue magic—does she devote herself more seriously to art? Do something else? Get away from her parents, and get to just be a kid for a little longer than her siblings?

By some mechanism, Kirielle gets pulled into the time loop, whether with Zorian, instead of him, or in some utterly unrelated incident. What’s it like to grow older and older in life experience while your body remains stubbornly nine? How does this change the story? If you go this route I’d rather looper!Kiri not be erased in the timeline of the fic—ending the fic before it becomes an issue or letting her escape back to the real world are what I’d rather see.

For some reason—there’s actually a fair amount that’d have to change here, but shhh this is my ridiculous self-indulgent prompt—Kirielle is the Controller. How does she react to being in a looping world, with no one else looping she can possibly compare notes with? What does she do with her time? Why did the angels choose her? How does this impact canon—is Jornak even a problem, does the whole Sovereign Gate affair pass much as it was meant to rather than the debacle that became of it in canon?

this video is so very mysterious and alluring... I don't really have specific prompts here, per se, but I want to know your take on this world/these characters/what's going on!

what sort of world is this? Is it like our world, only stylized? Is it more magical realism? It gives me big magical realism vibes lmao.

what’s with the wolf, and the encounter? Is the wolf just a wolf, or is it special somehow? Are they two halves of a whole?

does the cloak grow redder as the woman rejects her society further? Is it special at all? Or merely symbolic?
